Here ducky, ducky........quack, quack

There is nothing more fun than watching your children delight in something. Today's excitement......ducks!

The other day I was baking bread and in my hurry I didn't check the temperature of the water which was too hot, killing the yeast. (For those of you who don't make bread if you kill the yeast it won't rise, and who really wants to eat a brick.) Instead of throwing it away we went in search of some hungry ducks. It was fun watching these duck timid at first and then warming up very quickly. There were a couple that if you didn't throw them bread quick enough they would peck your shoe. There was also a couple of them that could actually catch the bread in there mouth. Some ducks would also fight while waiting for bread, I never thought I would break up a fight between ducks. Hannah teased the Ducks by feeding them and then barking like a dog and running. Peter always was walking backwards trying to put a little space in between himself and the ducks. Poor Joseph was not quick enough and also being short had many times when the ducks would take the whole chunk of bread right out of his hands. I was amazed at how fast one loaf of bread can be eaten by a bunch of ducks! Fun days!
